Greetings from the Sunny East Coast !
WOW, what a great week at Campmeeting !
Ronnie was our “manager” taking us through nine innings of excellent preaching on Philippians. Frances showed us her abilities with music, every thing from classic hymns of the church, to stories of cats and dogs, even a hip rap that recapped camp !
There was time for fellowship, drama, songs, love, praise and tears. The growing membership in the Youth, Tweeners, and VBS program delivered some high powered messages to each other and to the more “experienced” campers. (myself included)
Food, ah did I mention the excellent foods…We never did figure out who was the “Bacon Bandit”. Still we enjoyed everything from meatloaf, green beans + ham, tacos, pizza ( save those proof of purchases ), and ice cream sweets and treats… ’nough said as the list of yummies goes on and on.
The weather was more then cooperative, it was nearly perfect. We had a couple of humid days, but the mountain breezes provided needed respite in the evenings so we could recharge our internal batteries. I mentioned to Pastor Ronnie that I must be running on “Divine Power”, since I would have clunked out mid-week otherwise .
God works in wonderful ways and the good Book has many life lessons for each of us. Proverbs covers a great deal in 31 chapters, and Pastor Gavin covered many of the high points during the Adult Bible study.
Lord willing, we still have many weeks left to enjoy Mount Olivet Campmeeting in 2010. Mark your calendars for the Labor Day Concert that features the Weaver Believer Survival Revival, Gospel music with a Blue Grass flare.
Until Then….
See You at Camp!
